Texhoma cattle sales reportThe Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 2,375 head Jan. 9, compared to 1,993 head last week and 575 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last sale, feeder steers were $2 to $4 lower. Feeder heifers and heifer calves were $3 to $5 lower. Steer calves 400 to 500 pounds were $3 higher, heavier weights were $3 to $4 lower. Demand was moderate for all classes. Fill was average. The supply included 65% steers, 33% heifers with 69% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were steady. Slaughter bulls were $2 higher. A total of 96 cows and bulls sold with 77% to packers.
