Presho livestock sales reportThe Presho Livestock Auction, Presho, S.D., reported receipts of 2,595 head Jan. 3, compared to 1,280 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Trends were not applicable since the last sale was a month ago. Several potloads were on offer. Feeders had both rounds of shots. The offering included 46% steers, 54% heifers, with 77% percent of feeders 600 pounds and over. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 433 to 445 lbs., 114.50 to 121.50 (120.14); 36 head, 481 lbs., 114.00 to 115.25 (115.01); 507 to 549 lbs., 107.50 to 111.75 (110.82); 21 head, 580 lbs., 104.00; 605 to 631 lbs., 100.25 to 107.75 (104.88) calves; 656 to 696 lbs., 96.00 to 102.00 (101.28) calves; 704 to 738 lbs., 98.25 to 104.00 (102.42) calves; 764 to 776 lbs., 97.60 to 98.75 (97.90) calves; 17 head, 824 lbs., 95.25 calves. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 6 head, 480 lbs., 107.25; 5 head, 554 lbs., 95.50; 43 head, 649 lbs., 98.25 calves; 744 to 747 lbs., 95.25 to 96.25 (95.99) calves.
