Lexington livestock salesThe Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Neb., reported receipts of 1,800 head Jan. 4, compared to 2,750 head last week and 2,300 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Compared to last week, steers and heifers trended weak to $4 lower. Demand was mostly moderate and trade activity was moderate. Receipts consisted of 59% steers and 41% heifers with 88% of the total weighing over 600 pounds.
