Colorado feeder cattle sales

The Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., reported receipts of 885 head Jan. 4, compared to 5,050 head two weeks ago, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo.

Compared to two weeks ago, feeder steers and heifers were not well tested in a light post holiday test. Demand was moderate at best, with the bulk of the offering being Holstein feeder steers. The week supply was made up of 96% feeder steers, the balance was feeder heifers, with about 8% of total supply over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 485 lbs., 127.00; 565 lbs., 111.00; 600 to 660 lb. calves 103.00 to 105. Feeder Holstein, steers, Large frame 3, 200 to 240 lbs., 80.00 to 93.00; 260 to 300 lbs., 78.50 to 86.00; 300 to 360 lbs., 80.00 to 87.00; 430 to 480 lbs., 77.00 to 81.00; 510 to 600 lbs., 71.00-75.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 380 lbs., 115.00; 515 lbs., 101.00.
