Apache livestock sales reportStockman's Livestock Inc., Apache, Okla., reported receipts of 3,520 head Jan. 5, compared to 4,587 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to the last sale Dec. 14, there was no recent test of trends, however lower undertones were noted. Feeder cattle reportedly were $2 to $3 lower. Demand was moderate to good for all classes. Slaughter cows were $2 to $3 higher. Slaughter bulls were $3 higher. A total of 645 head of cows and bulls sold with 45% going to packers.
