Woodward livestock sales report

The Woodward Livestock Auction, Woodward, Okla., reported receipts of 4,230 head Jan. 25, compared to 4,690 head last week and 2,793 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers were $1 to $2 higher. Feeder heifers were $2 higher. Steer calves were $3 to $5 higher, heifer calves $2 to $4 higher. Demand was good for all classes. Fill was average, few full. The supply included 54% steers, 37% heifers with 72% over 600 pounds.
