Watertown cattle sales report

The South Dakota Livestock Sales, Watertown, S.D., reported receipts of 1,700 head Jan. 30, compared to 1,825 head last week and 1,702 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Feeder steers and feeder heifers were $1 to $3 higher compared to last week. Feeder steers made up 72% of the run, feeder heifers made up 28%, with 92% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 13 head, 440 to 443 lbs., 117.00 to 122.00 (119.30); 14 head, 488 to 497 lbs., 118.00 to 120.00 (118.71); 5 head, 540 lbs., 115.00; 33 head, 566 lbs., 115.00; 632 to 648 lbs., 107.00 to 112.25 (110.12) calves; 13 head, 699 lbs., 106.75; 652 to 684 lbs., 105.00 to 108.50 (107.51) calves; 677 to 687 lbs., 118.00 fancy; 700 to 738 lbs., 103.00 to 105.50 (104.48); 60 head, 855 lbs., 100.50; 936 to 940 lbs., 94.40 to 95.00 (94.53); 989 to 993 lbs., 93.50; 23 head, 1005 lbs., 93.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 12 head, 727 lbs., 99.00; 755 to 799 lbs., 95.50 to 96.90 (96.61); 817 to 846 lbs., 93.00 to 93.75 (93.34); 872 to 895 lbs., 91.50 to 94.80 (94.10); 20 head, 943 lbs., 92.10.
