Texhoma cattle sales report

The Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 905 head Jan. 30, compared to 576 head last week and 1,323 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were $1 to $2 higher. Steer and heifer calves were steady in a limited test. Demand was good for all classes. Weigh-ups were average. The supply included 60% steers, 38% heifers with 74% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were $2 higher. Limited test on bulls. A total of 61 cows and bulls sold with 86% to packers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 9 head, 371 lbs., 136.00; 20 head, 422 to 435 lbs., 127.00 to 131.50 (130.83); 16 head, 500 lbs., 118.25; 563 to 597 lbs., 111.50 to 113.75 (112.89); 18 head, 641 lbs., 110.00; 8 head, 688 lbs., 106.00; 6 head, 745 lbs., 100.50; 792 to 795 lbs., 98.50 to 100.00 (99.81); 858 to 870 lbs., 94.50 to 96.25 (96.10). Small and medium frame 1, 7 head, 777 lbs., 95.50.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 528 lbs., 108.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 13 head, 448 lbs., 111.00; 504 to 542 lbs., 100.50 to 103.75 (103.00); 555 to 573 lbs., 97.50 to 100.50 (98.90); 612 to 638 lbs., 94.50 to 97.50 (96.43); 660 to 671 lbs., 93.00 to 96.50 (95.33); 705 to 748 lbs., 93.50 to 95.25 (94.82); 13 head, 873 lbs., 89.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 11 head, 525 lbs., 100.00. Medium and large frame 2, 5 head, 585 lbs., 91.00; 7 head, 635 to 641 lbs., 90.00 to 94.50 (93.22).

Slaughter cows: Boners, 6 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1200 to 1550 lbs., 48.50; high dressing, 51.50 to 53.50; low dressing, 43.50 to 45.50. Lean, 27 head, 85 to 90% lean, 875 to 1225 lbs., 47.50 to 49.50; high dressing, 50.00 to 53.00; low dressing, 44.50 to 46.00. Light, 19 head, 85 to 90% lean, 775 to 1050 lbs., 41.50 to 44.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1 head, 1750 lbs., 63.00.
