South Central direct sheepThe South Central Direct Sheep sales report for the week ending Jan. 25, showed receipts of 300 slaughter meat goats, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas. Trading was at a standstill in the area this week. Available lambs were limited. There were no feeder lambs or slaughter lambs. Slaughter and replacement ewes were not tested. Slaughter meat goats were $5 higher. Buyers and sellers took a wait-and-see attitude. Cold, wet weather further slowed trade. Slaughter meat goats: Kids, Texas, 300 head, Selection 1 to 2, 50 to 65 lbs., 110.00.
