Ogallala livestock sales

The Ogallala Livestock Auction Market, Ogallala, Neb., reported receipts of 3,300 head Jan. 24, compared to 6,200 head last week and 6,400 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb.

Compared to last week, steers and heifers were $2 to $5 higher on all weights of cattle. Steers accounted for 47% and heifers 53% of the offering, with 63% over 600 pounds.
