Conservation District sets annual meeting for Feb. 9

The 60th annual meeting of the Ford County Conservation District will be held at the Ford County 4-H Building in Dodge City, Feb. 9 beginning at 6 p.m. A meal will be furnished by the banks of Ford County.

During the evening meeting, winners of the conservation poster and essay contests will be recognized. The recipient of the Ford County Conservation District scholarship will be announced at this meeting.

Two district supervisors will be elected by qualified electors who are present at the annual meeting. The supervisors whose terms are expiring are Jerry A. Hager of Ford and Thomas Klenke of Spearville.

This year's program will be a presentation by James Lane, undersheriff in Ford County. The topic of his presentation will be related to emerging threats to the food chain and or food change security.

Reservations are required. Please call the district office at 620-227-3737, ext. 3, by Feb. 1.
