Colorado feeder cattle sales

The Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., reported receipts of 5,170 head Jan. 25, compared to 12,745 head last week and 7,850 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo.

Compared to last week, feeder steers weighing under 600 pounds were $2 to $4 higher, weights over 600 pounds were steady to $3 higher. Feeder heifers under 550 pounds sold steady to $1 higher. Demand was moderate to good with the greatest demand for cattle weighing over 600 pounds. The variability felt within this week's corn complex coupled with a shorter supply has allowed for an increase in feeder cattle prices. The supply was made up of 65% feeder steers, the balance was feeder heifers, with about 68% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1 425 lbs., 128.00; 450 to 470 lbs., 120.00 to 125.00; 500 to 530 lbs., 118.00 to 121.00; 550 to 580 lbs., 107.50 to 115.00; 600 to 640 lb. calves 100.00 to 108.50; 650 to 680 lb. calves 96.00 to 104.50; 700 to 740 lb. calves 93.75 to 99.85; 750 to 795 lbs., 95.00 to 97.00, calves 95.00; 800 to 860 lbs., 90.00 to 95.25; 1000 to 1010 lbs., 94.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 370 to 390 lbs., 115.00 to 125.50; 510 to 530 lbs., 112.00 to 112.50; 580 to 590 lbs., 99.00 to 106.00; 600 to 640 lb. calves 93.25 to 97.00; 650 to 690 lbs., 94.00, calves 92.00 to 94.50; 730 to 750 lb. calves 91.25 to 93.75; 1020 to 1030 lbs., 90.75.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 400 to 480 lbs., 102.00 to 114.00; 500 to 540 lbs., 101.00 to 106.00; 550 to 580 lbs., 94.00 to 99.00; 600 to 690 lb. calves 88.50 to 96.50; 700 to 730 lb. calves 87.50 to 94.00; 770 to 780 lb. calves 86.25; 800 to 830 lbs., 90.50 to 93.25. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 350 to 370 lbs., 107.00 to 110.50; 420 to 440 lbs., 97.00 to 107.50; 550 to 570 lbs., 88.00 to 91.50; 650 to 690 lbs., calves 84.50 to 88.25; 740 lbs., 85.50.
