Aberdeen cattle sales report

The Hub City Livestock Auction, Aberdeen, S.D., reported receipts of 2,568 head Jan. 30, compared to 3,217 head last week and 4,230 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to last week, feeder steers sold $2 to $4 higher. Heifers sold $2 to $5 higher. Markets were active, with demand good. Steers comprised 59% of the run, heifers 41%, with 86% over 600 pounds.
