32nd Annual Iowa Beef Expo planned

Iowa

The 32nd Annual Iowa Beef Expo will be held at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines, Iowa, Feb. 10 to 17. Planners anticipate one of the best shows ever with breed sales, shows and one of the nation's largest junior show.

The Iowa Beef Expo will feature the Simmental, Charolais, Shorthorn, Red Angus, Gelbvieh, Limousin, Salers, Angus, Polled Hereford, Hereford, Maine Anjou and Chianina sales. Information regarding the sales can be found at www.iowabeefexpo.com.

The Iowa Beef Expo will also hold the commercial tradeshow, offering seedstock producers, commercial producers, feedlot operators and other agriculturalists the best opportunity to see all that technology has to offer their program. The commercial tradeshow features a full array of the finest livestock equipment, genetic companies and livestock services available.

The Expo will also feature the live display aisle, which is an elite live cattle display area. Cattlemen will display their bull prospects or donor females or promote their upcoming sales to reach seedstock, commercial and club calf producers in one location.

The Iowa Beef Expo will conclude the week with the Iowa Beef Expo junior steer and heifer show. Junior exhibitors will compete for the Top 5 market animal and breeding heifer awards. A year-end awards program will be held on Feb. 16 at 1 p.m., in the livestock pavilion, in which juniors will be presented awards from the previous year's exhibition.

The Iowa Beef Expo is a function of the Iowa Beef Breeds Council representing the states purebred seedstock cattle producers. The vitality of the IBBC comes from its spirit of cooperation among the individual breed associations and their commitment to Iowa's purebred beef cattle industry.
