West Pains regional salesThe Ozarks Regional Stockyard, West Plains, Mo., reported receipts of 4,000 head Feb. 19, compared to 963 head last week and 4,678 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo. Compared to last week's light run, steers under 500 pounds and weights over 650 pounds sold mostly steady. However, 500- to 550-pound steers were steady to $2 lower, while 550- to 650-pound steers sold steady to $2 higher. Heifers were steady to $2 higher, with 500 to 650 weights were $2 to $3 higher in active trade. The supply was moderate, several showing winter stress flesh condition, while others showed some management of being pretty good with a feed bucket. Demand was good. The feeder supply consisted of 45% steers and 55% heifers, with nearly 35% over 600 pounds.
