Texhoma cattle sales report

The Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 1,730 head Feb. 20, compared to 1,085 head last week and 1,475 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market Ns, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady. Stocker steers were $2 higher. Steer and heifer calves were steady. Demand was good for all classes. Weigh-ups were average. The supply included 67% steers, 33% heifers with 81% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were $2 to $3 higher. No test on bulls. A total of 40 cows and bulls sold with 80% going to packers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 466 to 476 lbs., 124.00 to 136.75 (129.50); 519 to 533 lbs., 121.75 to 123.50 (122.41); 44 head, 599 lbs., 119.00; 600 to 635 lbs., 115.00 to 121.00 (118.88); 657 to 680 lbs., 109.00 to 115.50 (111.71); 709 to 749 lbs., 105.50 to 108.25 (107.83); 781 to 788 lbs., 102.50 to 104.50 (103.15); 811 to 827 lbs., 100.10 to 103.00 (101.70); 858 to 892 lbs., 94.25 to 98.25 (96.31). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 9 head, 972 lbs., 90.50. Medium and large frame 2, 413 to 442 lbs., 121.00 to 122.00 (121.47); 522 to 536 lbs., 117.00 to 120.00 (118.23); 652 to 669 lbs., 104.00 to 108.00 (106.94).

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 321 lbs., 124.00; 5 head, 371 lbs., 121.00; 8 head, 437 lbs., 116.00; 11 head, 475 to 478 lbs., 110.00 to 111.50 (111.09); 17 head, 502 to 528 lbs., 107.50; 38 head, 565 lbs., 104.50 to 110.00 (108.84); 623 to 645 lbs., 98.50 to 101.75 (101.18); 666 to 686 lbs., 98.50 to 100.00 (99.13); 25 head, 739 lbs., 98.00; 767 to 788 lbs., 93.00 to 96.10 (94.44); 10 head, 824 lbs., 91.85. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 14 head, 589 lbs., 102.75. Medium and large frame 2, 9 head, 487 lbs., 106.50; 565 to 595 lbs., 94.50 to 98.00 (96.22). Small and medium frame 3, 11 head, 575 lbs., 79.00; 16 head, 713 lbs., 81.25; 12 head, 808 lbs., 77.25.

Slaughter cows: Boners, 18 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1150 to 1625 lbs., 56.00 to 56.50; high dressing, 57.00 to 58.50; low dressing, 50.50 to 51.50. Lean, 11 head, 85 to 90% lean, 875 to 1300 lbs., 51.00 to 54.50; high dressing, 56.00 to 58.00; low dressing, 48.50. Light, 2 head, 85 to 90% lean, 850 to 900 lbs., 42.50 to 45.50.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1 head, 1850 lbs., 67.50
