Presho livestock sales report

The Presho Livestock Auction, Presho, S.D., reported receipts of 1,942 head Feb. 14, compared to 2,517 head last week, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to two weeks ago, regular sale last week, feeder steers and heifers sold $3 to $5 higher. Several potloads were offered. The offering was composed of 42% steers, 48% was heifers, 10% bred cows and heifers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 9 head, 518 lbs., 132.00; 556 to 594 lbs., 120.00 to 127.50 (126.16); 619 to 649 lbs., 112.50 to 118.00 (115.13) calves; 87 head, 633 lbs., 126.00 fancy; 666 to 695 lbs., 108.00 to 112.00 (109.29) calves; 725 to 747 lbs., 102.75 to 108.50 (107.55) calves; 777 to 791 lbs., 100.75 to 105.75 (104.18) calves; 37 head, 754 lbs., 107.00 fancy; 801 to 828 lbs., 101.00 to 102.75 (102.65). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 10 head, 378 lbs., 139.00; 620 to 646 lbs., 105.50 to 110.00 (107.62) calves;.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 470 lbs., 119.00; 14 head, 537 lbs., 116.25; 558 to 586 lbs., 112.00 to 117.00 (115.47); 609 to 646 lbs., 105.50 to 108.25 (106.68) calves; 60 head, 616 lbs., 110.00 fancy; 665 to 697 lbs., 101.00 to 104.75 (103.54) calves; 93 head, 685 lbs., 106.00 fancy; 22 head, 702 lbs., 97.00 calves. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 5 head, 372 lbs., 116.00; 11 head, 594 lbs., 106.25.

Bred cows and heifers: Bred heifers, 51 head, 1,244 to 1,251 lbs., March calvers, 1,200 to 1,300 per head; 3 years old, 14 head 1,202 lbs., March calvers, 1,130 per head; solids, 29 head 1,388 lbs., March calvers, 775 per head; brokens, 29 head 1,266 to 1,457 lbs., February calvers, 700 to 770 per head; 69 head, 1,331 to 1,355 lbs., March calvers, 740 to 760 per head.
