Lexigton livestock salesThe Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Neb., reported receipts of 2,900 head Feb. 15, compared to 2,500 head last week and 3,100 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Compared to last week, steers and heifers trended fully steady to as much as $3 higher. Demand was very good and trading was active especially for those offerings suitable for going to grass. Receipts consisted of 62% steers and 38% heifers with 76% of the total feeder cattle receipts weighing over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 43 head, 395 lbs., 136.00; 5 head, 436 lbs., 135.00; 450 to 489 lbs., 134.50 to 136.50 (135.58); 504 to 540 lbs., 129.50 to 134.00 (131.70); 556 to 585 lbs., 119.25 to 125.50 (123.63); 606 to 632 lbs., 113.75 to 118.00 (115.21) calves; 619 to 624 lbs., 121.75 to 122.10 (121.96) fancy; 653 to 694 lbs., 108.25 to 115.00 (110.83) calves; 700 to 749 lbs., 105.25 to 109.75 (107.79) calves; 755 to 792 lbs., 103.00 to 105.00 (103.69) calves; 825 to 843 lbs., 100.25 to 101.75 (100.77) calves. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 22 head, 479 lbs., 128.50; 16 head, 597 lbs., 117.50; 12 head, 636 lbs., 111.50 calves; 15 head, 759 lbs., 101.00 calves.
