Grain sorghum school Feb. 29

Kansas

Interested in learning the most up-to-date information on growing grain sorghum? With the unusually high price of farm commodities, it is critical that producers obtain the most yields possible from their crops. Growing grain sorghum shows potential for many producers this year. A Grain Sorghum School will be held on Feb. 29 starting at 11 a.m., at the Ness County Fairgrounds in Ness City.

Thanks to the sponsors, there is no cost to attend the school, but please register by Feb. 27. Call 800-460-9079 to ensure enough food is ordered.

Kraig Roozelboom, K-State Crop Production Specialist, will discuss general production practices for grain sorghum. Brian Olson, K-State Crops Specialist NW Area, will talk about fertility, herbicides, and pest control. Dan O'Brien, NW Area Ag Economist, will comment on the current economic and marketing outlook and pricing/hauling considerations.

This school is sponsored by the Walnut Creek Extension District and the following Sorghum Seed Companies: Triumph, Fontanelle, Drussel Seed, Pioneer, Frontier, Ohlde Seed, NC+, Garst, Dyna-Gro/UAP, Sorghum Partners, and Dekalb/Asgrow.

K-State Research and Extension is committed to making its services, activities, and programs accessible to all participants. If you have special requirements due to a physical, vision or hearing disability, please contact David Coltrain at 1-800-460-9079.
