Goldthwaite sheep salesThe Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas, Feb. 15, showed receipts of 1,391 head of sheep and goats, compared to 1,981 head last week and 1,738 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, stocker and feeder lambs were not tested. Heavy weight slaughter lambs were steady on a light test, light weights were $10 to $15 lower. Stocker and feeder goats were not tested. Slaughter goats were steady. Demand was good. The supply included around 40% sheep including near 350 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified. Stock and feeder: Dorper ewes, 80 to 120 lbs 35.00 to 57.00, few fancy 75.00 per head; pairs, 39.00 to 69.00 per head. Dorper bucks, 100.00 to 190.00 per head. Barbados pairs, few 26.00 to 27.00 per head. Barbados bucks, 100.00 to 200.00 per head. Slaughter lambs: Choice, 100 to 150 lbs., 75.00 to 80.00. Prime 2 to 3, few 100 lbs., 107.00. Good and Choice 1 to 3, 40 to 85 lbs., 115.00 to 134.00 Slaughter ewes: Utility 1 to 3, Medium fleshy, 90 to 140 lbs., 30.00 to 44.00. Cull, thin/very thin, 20.00 to 30.00. Barbados lambs: 45 to 70 lbs., 90.00 to 115.00; ewes, 70 to 90 lbs., 25.00 to 35.00. Slaughter goats: Kids, Selection 1, 40 to 60 lbs., 130.00 to 147.00, 60 to 80 lbs 130.00 to 139.00. Selection 2, 40 to 60 lbs., 120.00 to 130.00. Nannies, Selection 1, 80 to 130 lbs., 30.00 to 41.00, thin 22.00 to 30.00. Billies, 90 to 200 lbs., 74.00 to 85.00.
