Ericson cattle sales report

The Ericson Spalding Livestock Auction, Ericson, Neb., reported receipts of 3,800 head Feb. 16, compared to 4,000 head last week and 3,000 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers trended $2 to $5 higher. Receipts consisted of 52% steers and 48% heifers, 54% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 7 head, 322 lbs., 137.00; 22 head, 407 lbs., 139.00 calves; 461 to 466 lbs., 141.00 to 143.50 (143.06); 518 to 540 lbs., 119.00 to 131.50 (126.29); 557 to 584 lbs., 123.25 to 133.75 (130.35); 603 to 647 lbs., 115.50 to 123.50 (120.70) calves; 657 to 697 lbs., 108.00 to 119.75 (115.51) calves; 704 to 728 lbs., 104.50 to 112.25 (110.41) calves; 753 to 779 lbs., 105.00 to 105.60 (105.17) calves; 35 head, 812 lbs., 100.85 calves. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 10 head, 407 lbs., 131.00; 10 head, 501 lbs., 119.50; 15 head, 668 lbs., 106.50 calves.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 14 head, 346 lbs., 123.00; 401 to 415 lbs., 126.50 to 133.50 (127.99); 460 to 498 lbs., 120.50 to 122.75 (122.04); 504 to 546 lbs., 107.00 to 118.40 (117.64); 558 to 598 lbs., 102.00 to 115.50 (108.16); 602 to 649 lbs., 97.25 to 110.25 (107.75) calves; 670 to 698 lbs., 96.50 to 103.00 (100.70) calves; 22 head, 717 lbs., 96.25 calves.
