Dunlap livestock sales report

The Dunlap Livestock Auction, Dunlap, Iowa, reported receipts of 3,199 head Feb. 15, compared to 2,018 head last week and 2,287 head last year, according to the Iowa Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Des Moines, Iowa.

This was a special preconditioned cattle sale. Compared to last week, steers and heifers trended fully steady to as much as $4 higher. Demand was very good and trading was active especially for those offerings suitable for going to grass. Receipts included 61% feeder cattle over 600 pound, 51% feeder heifers and 49% feeder steers.
