Colorado feeder cattle sales

The Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., reported receipts of 5,360 head Feb. 15, compared to 6,356 head last week and 5,400 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo.

Compared to last week, feeder steers weighing under 700 pounds were mostly $3 to $5 higher, with full increases at the two La Junta markets. Feeder steers weighing more than 700 pounds were $1 to $3 higher. Feeder heifers under 600 pounds were $2 to $3 higher, and over 600 pounds were $1 to $2 higher. Demand was good to very good, for increased supplies in the southeast corner of the state following last week's inclement weather. The supply was made up of 52% feeder steers, balance was feeder heifers, with about 56% of total feeder supply was over 600 pounds.

Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 380 to 400 lbs., 137.50 to 139.00; 465 lbs., 126.00; 500 to 560 lbs., 113.00 to 122.00; 600 to 690 lb. calves 97.00 to 104.00; 730 to 750 lb. calves 95.00 to 97.50; 830 to 870 lbs., 94.50 to 96.00.
