Bovine TB found in another Roseau County cattle herdST. PAUL, Minn. (AP)--Bovine tuberculosis has turned up in another Roseau County beef cattle herd. The Board of Animal Health says the herd tested negative in 2005 and 2006, but two of its animals tested positive in a recent third round of testing. The herd was near where another herd tested positive for bovine TB in 2005. State Veterinarian Bill Hartmann says that if one more infected herd is found, Minnesota's TB status may be downgraded. If that happens, the rules for interstate movement of cattle would change. The board says human exposure to bovine TB through milk or meat is unlikely. Inspectors check all cattle before and after slaughter, and adequate cooking destroys the bacteria. 2/25/08 Date: 2/19/08
