Bids close higherGrains and soybeans all closed higher on the day as wheat closed higher on strong soybean and corn markets, according to the National Grain Market Summary Feb. 19. Strength in energy and metal markets also supported wheat. Corn closed higher on strong crude oil and gold prices also strong export demand remains supportive. Soybeans moved sharply higher on energy markets and concerns on weather conditions in China that they will be very active buyer of soybeans; also a surge in palm oil was supportive. Wheat closed 3 to 7 cents higher, as Minneapolis wheat closed 13 cents lower. Corn traded 5 to 7 cents higher. Soybeans closed 19 to 28 cents higher. In the futures close, Kansas City March wheat was $10.84 1/2, up 2 1/2 cents. Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $4.94, down 2 cents; Minneapolis, $5.32, down 1 3/4 cents; Portland, $5.96 to $6, up 4 to down 1 cent; St. Louis, $4.45, down 4 cents. Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $3.53, down 7 to 5 cents; Minneapolis, $3.36, down 1 3/4 cents; southern Iowa, $3.47 1/4 to $3.49 1/4, down 3 3/4 to 3 1/4 cents; Omaha, $3.44 to $3.47, down 3 to 5 cents. Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $7.01, down 2 cents; Minneapolis, $6.82, unchanged; southern Iowa, $6.96 to $7, down 4 to 2 1/2 cents; central Illinois processors, $7.13 to $7.24, down 2 cents. Kansas City wheat prices Feb. 19, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $11.49 1/2 to $12.74 1/2, up 2 1/2 cents; 12% protein, $12.84 1/2 to $13.89 1/2, up 2 1/2 cents; 13% protein, $14.79 1/2 to $15.94 1/2, up 2 1/2 cents; 14% protein, $16.79 1/2 to $16.94 1/2, up 2 1/2 cents.
