Ada livestock sales report

The Southern Oklahoma Livestock Auction, Ada, Okla., reported receipts of 1,400 head Feb. 14, compared to 1,520 head last week and 280 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were $1 to $3 higher. Demand was good on all classes. Weigh-ups were average. Flesh conditions were medium. The supply included 44% heifers and 34% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. A total of 200 cows and bulls sold with 25% going to packers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 14 head, 453 to 498 lbs., 122.00 to 127.00 (125.08); 512 to 538 lbs., 120.00 to 128.00 (127.11); 554 to 586 lbs., 116.00 to 124.00 (119.26); 601 to 638 lbs., 109.00 to 114.50 (112.28); 7 head, 661 to 670 lbs., 106.50; 711 to 741 lbs., 101.50 to 104.50 (102.41); 15 head, 750 to 768 lbs., 97.75 to 98.00 (97.82). Medium and large frame 2, 554 to 593 lbs., 107.50 to 113.00 (111.38); 10 head, 610 to 617 lbs., 106.00 to 108.00 (106.70); 7 head, 663 to 665 lbs., 101.00 to 102.50 (102.07).

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 478 to 482 lbs., 123.00; 10 head, 510 to 522 lbs., 121.00 to 123.00 (121.84); 5 head, 625 to 643 lbs., 105.50 to 107.50 (106.69).

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 305 to 345 lbs., 116.00 to 119.00 (116.65); 16 head, 407 to 448 lbs., 115.00 to 117.00 (115.51); 453 to 490 lbs., 111.00 to 115.00 (112.89); 14 head, 507 to 538 lbs., 106.00 to 113.00 (110.67); 13 head 555 to 593 lbs., 103.00 to 109.00 (105.95); 6 head, 605 to 620 lbs., 97.50 to 98.00 (97.75); 9 head, 658 to 673 lbs., 92.00 to 98.00 (93.88); 12 head, 710 to 736 lbs., 88.50 to 94.50 (91.61); 6 head, 753 to 790 lbs., 88.00 to 89.00 (88.51). Medium and large frame 2, 6 head, 367 lbs., 112.00; 12 head, 400 to 449 lbs., 104.00 to 112.00 (109.65); 9 head, 541 to 543 lbs., 101.00; 560 to 595 lbs., 90.00 to 102.50 (94.85); 13 head, 615 to 631 lbs., 90.00 to 96.00 (92.91).

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 5 head, 75 to 80% lean, 1100 to 1425 lbs., 54.00 to 56.00; low dressing, 50.00. Boners, 15 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1050 to 1325 lbs., 54.00 to 56.00; low dressing, 48.00. Lean, 25 head, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1200 lbs., 46.00 to 48.00; high dressing, 50.00 to 52.00; low dressing, 43.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 5 head, 1300 to 2030 lbs., 64.00 to 65.00; high dressing, 71.00; low dressing, 53.00.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 3 to 5 years old 1125 to 1275 lbs., 7 months bred, high blacks, 1060.00 to 1110.00; 4 to 7 years old, 1000 to 1325 lbs., 5 to 7 months bred, average blacks, 800.00 to 880.00.
