Tulsa livestock sales report

The Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 1,345 head Feb. 11, compared to 1,438 head last week's ad 2,357 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, stocker steers were steady, feeder steers were $2 to $4 higher with most advance on 600- to 700-pounds. Stocker heifers were $3 to $5 higher, feeder heifers were $2 to $4 higher. Quality was average to very attractive, good demand on better cattle. Weigh-ups were average, few full, along with good attendance of buyers. Receipts included 56% steers, 33% heifers, 11% bulls, with 32% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were $3 higher. Very good demand on high dressing packer cows. A total of 184 cows and bulls sold with 60% going to packers.

Lean, 40 head, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1425 lbs., 53.50 to 57.00; high dressing, 58.00 to 63.50; low dressing, 48.50 to 52.00. Light, 25 head, 85 to 90% lean, 725 to 975 lbs., 48.00 to 51.50; high dressing, 52.00 to 55.00; low dressing, 43.50 to 47.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 12 head, 1350 to 2050 lbs., 60.00 to 63.50; high dressing, 64.00 to 69.00; low dressing 55.50 to 59.00.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1, 3 to 4 years old, 1000 to 1200 lbs., 4 to 7 months bred, average quality, 825.00 to 960.00; 4 to 6 years old, 1000 to 1100 lbs., 5 to 6 months bred, average quality, 800.00 to 875.00; 9 to 10 years old, 1050 to 1200 lbs., 5 to 7 months bred, average quality, 650.00 to 740.00.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1, 9 to 10 years old, 1100 to 1250 lbs., with 75- to 100-lb. calves, low quality, 710.00 to 780.00.
