Tulia livestock auction reportThe Tulia Livestock Auction, Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 2,743 head Feb. 11, compared to 1,704 head last week and 2,794 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers were $2 to $4 higher. Feeder heifers under 600 pounds were $2 to $5 higher, over 600 pounds were steady. Slaughter cows were steady. Slaughter bulls were not enough for a market test. Trade was moderate and demand was moderate to good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300- to 850-pound feeder steers and heifers. Feeder cattle accounted for 97% and slaughter cows and bulls 3% of the run. In the feeder supply, steers made up approximately 65% of the run, heifers 35%, steers and heifers over 600 pounds totaled 68%.
