Sprayer calibration workshop Feb. 20 Ness City

Kansas

As producers continue to increase their use of pesticides, it is vital to ensure that sprayers are calibrated correctly. To address these concerns, a Sprayer Calibration Workshop will be held in Ness City Feb. 20 at the Ness County Fairgrounds. Registration and lunch begin at noon and the program follows. Attendees are encouraged to bring calculators and spray scenarios that will be used as calibration examples.

The Walnut Creek Extension District and BTI of Bucklin, Greensburg and Ness City are sponsoring this workshop. Thanks to the sponsor, there is no cost to attend the school, but please register by Feb. 18. Call 800-460-9079 to ensure enough food is ordered.

Bob Wolf, K-State Extension Engineer, will present the program on the following topics: 1) Nozzle Type Discussion and Demonstration, 2) Calibration Scenarios, 3) Droplet Size Discussion (Coverage vs. Drift, Calibration), 4) Review of Studies on efficacy and drift and 5) New Technology.

K-State Research and Extension is committed to making its services, activities, and programs accessible to all participants. If you have special requirements due to a physical, vision or hearing disability, please contact David Coltrain at 1-800-460-9079.
