New Ochiltree County Agent named by Texas AgriLife Extension Service

Texas

The Texas AgriLife Extension Service has named Katy Williams of Perryton as the new family and consumer sciences agent to serve Ochiltree County, said Dr. Galen Chandler, district AgriLife Extension administrator in Amarillo.

Williams will begin training on Feb. 1 in Hansford County and start in her new position in Ochiltree County on March 1.

"I look forward to working with Katy in her new role as she is excited about her new career as a professional educator with Texas AgriLife Extension Service in Ochiltree County," said Chandler. She and Scott Strawn, AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent, will make a great team, he said.

A native of Bryan, Williams said the job is an exciting opportunity for her because many of the things she will teach to the people in the community are things she is interested in also.

"I'm excited to be working with the community of Ochiltree County," she said. "There are many educational programs in family and consumer sciences that are beneficial to this area, and I look forward to bringing those into homes throughout the county."

Williams attended Redlands Community College in El Reno, Okla. and received her bachelor's degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
