Lexington livestock salesThe Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Neb., reported receipts of 2,500 head Feb. 8, compared to 3,300 head last week and 4,000 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Compared to last week, steers and heifers trended fully steady to $2 higher. Demand was very good and trading active with the bulk of offerings being replacement heifers. Receipts consisted of 39% steers and 61% heifers with 81% of the total feeder cattle receipts weighing over 600 pounds.
