Huron cattle sales reportThe Bales Continental Commission Co., Huron, S.D., reported receipts of 2,371 head Feb. 12, compared to 2,181 head last week and 2,825 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, feeder steers sold steady to $3 higher. Feeder heifers sold $4 to $6 higher. Demand was good with many load lots in the offering. Price driven by weaned cattle with a shot program. Steers comprised 70% of the run. Heifers comprised 30%, with 92% over 600 pounds.
