High Plains slaughter news

High Plains weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending Feb. 10, totaled 182,148 head, compared to 151,298 head last week and 160,626 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, St. Joseph, Mo.

The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 2,209 head, 1,200 to 1,475 lbs., 89.00 to 92.50 (91.02); 65 to 80% Choice, 5,461 head, 1,260 to 1,475 lbs., 89.00 to 92.50 (91.13); 35 to 65% Choice, 38,375 head, 1,135 to 1,450 lbs., 90.00 to 92.50 (91.85); 0 to 35% Choice, 3,039 head, 1,220 to 1,375 lbs., 88.00 to 92.00 (91.78).
