Colorado feeder cattle report

The Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo, Feb. 8, reported receipts of 6,356 head, compared to 5,170 head last week and 8,870 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo.

Compared to last week, feeder steers weighing under 700 pounds sold $1 to mostly $2 higher than last week's full increase, weights over 700 pound were steady. Feeder heifers under 650 pounds were mostly $2 to $3 higher, over 650 pounds were fully steady to $1 higher. Demand was moderate to good, with the best demand on load lots. The supply was made up of 65% feeder steers, the balance was feeder heifers, with about 58% of total feeder supply over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 350 to 400 lbs., 129.00 to 135.00; 400 to 450 lbs., 129.00 to 131.00; 460 to 490 lbs., 129.00 to 135.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 122.00 to 131.00; 550 to 600 lbs., 111.50 to 129.00; 600 to 650 lb. calves 108.00 to 114.25; 650 to 690 lb. calves 103.00 to 113.50; 700 to 750 lb. calves 100.00 to 106.25; 780 to 800 lbs., 101.00 to 102.00, calves 97.00 to 102.50 800 to 850 lbs., 94.50 to 101.50; 850 to 890 lbs., 94.50 to 97.50; 900 to 950 lbs., 90.75 to 94.50.
