Amarillo livestock sales reportThe Amarillo Livestock Auction, Amarillo, Texas, reported receipts of 844 head Feb. 12, compared to 221 head last week and 1,022 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, no adequate price trend comparison was available due to limited receipts last week. Slaughter cows were steady on a light test. Limited test on slaughter bulls. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300- to 800-pound feeder steers and heifers. Trade and demand were moderate. Feeder cattle accounted for 93% and slaughter cows and bulls 7% of the run. In the feeder supply, steers made up approximately 58% of the run, heifers 42% steers and heifers over 600 pounds totaled 55%.
