Tulsa livestock sales report

The Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 1,438 head Feb. 4, compared to 1,733 head last week and 1,636 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, stocker steers were $1 to $3 higher. Feeder steers were steady to $2 higher. Stocker and feeder heifers were $1 to $3 higher. Demand was very good with good attendance of buyers. Weigh-ups were mostly average. Receipts included 44% steers, 44% heifers, with 24% of total over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were $3 higher. Slaughter bulls were steady to $2 higher. A total of 160 cows and bulls sold with 61% going to packers.

Medium and large frame 2, 5 head, 348 lbs., 118.00 thin; 8 head, 340 to 342 lbs., 110.00 to 113.50 (112.63); 400 to 447 lbs., 112.00 to 123.00 (118.34); 16 head, 465 to 495 lbs., 105.00 to 117.50 (109.78); 8 head, 511 to 530 lbs., 18.50 to 110.00 (53.27); 6 head, 560 to 593 lbs., 105.00 to 106.00 (105.50). Large frame 1, 5 head, 602 lbs., 111.00.

Boners, 21 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1050 to 1550 lbs., 49.50 to 53.00; high dressing, 54.00 to 58.50; low dressing, 44.50 to 48.00. Lean, 32 head, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1300 lbs., 50.00 to 53.50; high dressing, 54.00 to 60.50; low dressing, 45.50 to 49.00. Light, 23 head, 85 to 90% lean, 750 to 975 lbs., 44.50 to 48.00; high dressing, 49.00 to 54.50; low dressing, 40.50 to 44.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 16 head, 1300 to 1850 lbs., 60.00 to 63.50; high dressing, 64.00 to 66.50; low dressing, 55.50 to 59.00.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1, 5 to 7 years old, 1200 to 1400 lbs., 4 to 7 months bred, average quality, 700.00 to 875.00.
