Pratt livestock sales reportPratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 3,634 head Jan. 31, compared to 1,916 head last week and 2,521 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared to last week, steers at 300 to 600 pounds were $1 to $5 higher, 600 to 850 pounds were $1 to $4 higher, and 850 to 1000 pounds were steady. Heifers at 300 to 600 pounds were steady to $6 higher, and 600 to 900 pounds were steady to $4 higher. Trade was active, demand was good. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. Receipts included 82% 600 pounds and over, 15% 600 pounds and under, 3% cows and bulls. The feeder supply included 71% steers and 29% heifers.
