Huron cattle sales reportThe Bales Continental Commission Co., Huron, S.D., reported receipts of 2,181 head Feb. 5, compared to 2,075 head last week and 1,551 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, feeder steers up to 750 pounds sold $2 to $5 higher. Feeder steers 751 pounds and over sold steady. Feeder heifers sold were steady to $2.50 higher. Demand was good, price driven by weaned cattle with a shot program. Steers comprised 72% of the run, heifers 28%, with 92% of the run was over 600 pounds.
