High Plains slaughter news

High Plains weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending Feb. 3, totaled 151,298 head, compared to 138,823 head last week and 177,461 head last year, according to the USDA Market Ns Service, St. Joseph, Mo.

The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 3,283 head, 1,250 to 1,475 lbs., 86.50 to 90.25 (88.02); 65 to 80% Choice, 2,349 head, 1,120 to 1,500 lbs., 86.00 to 90.00 (88.29); 35 to 65% Choice, 31,317 head, 1,100 to 1,475 lbs., 86.00 to 91.00 (89.68); 0 to 35% Choice, 2,209 head, 1,125 to 1,400 lbs., 89.00 to 90.00 (89.96).
