Ericson cattle sales reportThe Ericson Spalding Livestock Auction, Ericson, Neb., reported receipts of 3,500 head Feb. 2, compared to 2,250 head last week and 3,400 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Compared to last week, feeder cattle over 550 pounds trended fully $4 to $6 higher, with instances of as much as $10 higher on 800 weight cattle. Cattle quality was average to good, very strong demand for all classes. Receipts consisted of 57% steers and 43% heifers, with 72% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 466 to 482 lbs., 128.50 to 137.00 (132.79); 513 to 533 lbs., 124.50 to 133.75 (129.93); 578 to 592 lbs., 120.00 to 123.75 (121.87); 610 to 647 lbs., 113.50 to 122.25 (117.47) calves; 651 to 682 lbs., 106.50 to 116.25 (113.53) calves; 707 to 745 lbs., 103.10 to 108.10 (105.88) calves; 753 to 785 lbs., 103.85 to 105.50 (104.85) calves; 817 to 840 lbs., 101.60 to 104.00 (103.18) calves; 26 head, 869 lbs., 91.25 calves. Medium and large frame 1, 12 head, 547 lbs., 120.75; 555 to 598 lbs., 116.00 to 120.00 (117.59); 7 head, 602 lbs., 105.00 calves; 6 head, 773 lbs., 96.25 calves; 13 head, 838 lbs., 92.75 calves.
