Aberdeen cattle sales report

The Hub City Livestock Auction, Aberdeen, S.D., reported receipts of 5,856 head Feb. 6, compared to 2,568 head last week and 2,914 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to last week, feeder steers sold steady to $2 higher. Heifers sold steady to $2 higher on 700 pounds and under. Heifers over 700 pounds $1 to $2 lower. Demand was good. Steers comprised 68% of the run, heifers 32%, with 95% over 600 pounds.
