Nationally known equine experts to highlight 2008 Missouri Livestock Symposium

Missouri

Garry L. Mathes, chair of the Missouri Livestock Symposium, says horse enthusiasts are "in for a treat and will not want to miss out on this year's equine section of the Missouri Livestock Symposium".

Featured at the Dec. 5 and 6 Symposium will be recognized speakers from 16 states and Canada. Some of the horse speakers and topics include Rick Lamb of Phoenix, Ariz. Lamb will speak on "Seven Key Qualities of a Horseman" and "Finding Flicka: Selecting the Horse that's Right for You" Lamb is seen regularly on RFD-TV's The Horse Show, and has a popular syndicated radio show that airs nationwide. State equine specialist Marci Jennings, University of Missouri, will address the topic of mare management and foaling while Dr. T.A. Yazwinski of Fayetteville, Ark., provides horse owners with the latest information needed to control parasites in horses.

Mathes further indicated the Missouri Livestock Symposium will have additional programs attractive to horse owners. Both our forages section and renewable energies section of the Symposium will have "crossover appeal" to horse owners.

Last year Symposium attendees came from 16 states and according to Mathes, is one of the "best deals" around. No pre-registration is necessary, and other than concert tickets Dec. 6 to see country music star John Anderson, there is no charge to attend the Symposium.

Missouri Livestock Symposium hours are Dec. 5 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Dec. 6 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Check out the entire Missouri Livestock Symposium program at http://missourilivestock.com or call 660-665-9866 or 660-341-6625 for additional information.
