Limousin breeders bring 86 entries to Louisville

The North American International Livestock Exposition Limousin show was Nov. 19 in Louisville, Ky. The NAILE is one of the North American Limousin Foundation's four major Medal of Excellence shows.

In the Lim-Flex show, judge Jered Shipman of Lockney, Texas, evaluated 16 females and five bulls. He then sorted 50 Limousin females and 15 Limousin bulls in the main show.

In the Limousin bull show, EXLR Total Impact 054T won the grand champion banner after winning Division 4. Express Ranches, Yukon, Okla., and Deer Valley Farm, Fayetteville, Tenn., own the Feb. 3, 2007, son of LESF Asphalt 9N.

The reserve grand champion Limousin bull was KYLD Daytona 730T, the Division 3 champion. The May 15, 2007, son of KRVN Naskar 013N belongs to Kyle Delaplaine, Gettysburg, Pa.

The title of grand champion Limousin female went to EF Trend Setter 206T, the Division 5 winner. Corinne Harrison, Minier, Ill., owns the Feb. 3, 2007, daughter of GPFF Blaque Rulon.

EXLR Luvly 291T followed her win in Division 3 by claiming reserve grand champion Limousin female. Delaplaine owns the Oct. 25, 2007, daughter of Carrousels Pure Power.

Grand champion honors in the Lim-Flex bull show went to EXLR Southpaw 835S, the Division 3 winner and a March 16, 2006, son of LESF Asphalt 9N out of EXAR Scotch Cap 1548. Express Ranches and the Glebe Limousin Farm, Charles City, Va., own him.

Ellie Sennett, Waynetown, Ind., owns the reserve grand champion Lim-Flex bull. Sennett Predator 827U--a March 1, 2008, son of SAV 004 Predominant 4438 out of D/S Eileen 515R--was the Division 1 champion.

Sennett also owns the grand champion Lim-Flex female. Sennett Emblynette 723T--a Feb. 1, 2007, daughter of SAV 004 Predominant 4438 out of Sennett Heather 448P--first won Division 3.

EXLR Sunset 080U claimed reserve grand champion Lim-Flex female for the Sunset Group, Owensville, Ind. The Division 1 winner is a March 1, 2008, daughter of EXAR Midland 5526 out of BOHI Sunset 6156S.

Express Ranches had the breeder's best five head and claimed both the Premier Breeder and Premier Exhibitor honors.

In the juniors' female show Nov. 16, judge Randy Daniel of Colbert, Ga., selected Delaplaine's EXLR Luvly 291T as grand champion from among 57 entries. Harrison's EF Trend Setter 206T was reserve grand champion. Austen Etherton, Dawson, Ill., had the bred-and-owned champion in EF Uptown Girl--a Feb. 5, 2008, daughter of EF Main Stay 541M.

The North American Limousin Foundation, headquartered in Centennial, Colo., provides programs and services--including genetic evaluation of 5,000 active sires--to more than 4,000 members and their commercial customers. The Limousin breed and its Lim-Flex hybrid lead the beef industry in muscle-growth efficiency and ideally complement British breeds.
