Champions crowned at American Royal National Hereford ShowLCC Back N Time and WRB Elizabeth 3T won the grand champion bull and female titles at the 2008 American Royal National Hereford Show on Nov. 2 in Kansas City. Hereford breeder Bob Goble evaluated the 179-head open show and complimented the exhibitors in his closing comments when he talked about the tremendous contributions cattle in the championship line ups will make to the breed. Chris Mullinix, El Dorado, Kan., judged the 50-head junior show. Lowderman Cattle Co., Macomb, Ill., exhibited the champion bull. LCC Back in Time is sired by STAR Bright Future 533P ET. He has expected progeny differences (EPDs) of birth weight (BW) 3.9; weaning weight (WW) 44; yearling weight (YW) 73; milk (MM) 19; and milk & growth (M&G) 41. Reserve champion yearling bull BR DM CSF Wallace ET owned by Barber Ranch, Channing, Texas; Cottonwood Springs Farm, Cedar, Mich.; Don Moler, Cheyenne, Okla.; and the Wallace Syndicate, Channing, Texas, took home reserve grand champion honors. He is a son of BR Moler ET and has EPDs of BW 2.5; WW 46; YW 80; MM 15 and M&G 38. Wallace was the reserve grand champion and high-selling bull of all breeds at the 2008 National Western. Barber Ranch also won the best six head award at the conclusion of the show. Mariah Behrends, San Jose, Ill., exhibited the grand and junior yearling champion female. WRB Elizabeth 3T by CH Enuff Prophet 2913 showed with EPDs of BW 4.4; WW 50; YW 79; MM 14 and M&G 39. The champion spring heifer calf followed with reserve grand champion honors for Laken Lierle, Ft. Cobb, Okla. SLDK Miss Roxy V-31 ET by SLDK Poseidon R09 ET posted EPDs of BW 3.3; WW 41; YW 66; MM 16 and M&G 37. DelHawk Cattle Co., Earlville, Ill., captured the champion get-of-sire award, Purple Reign Cattle Co., Toulon, Ill., was named the premier exhibitor while Barber Ranch was awarded the premier breeder award. Laken Lierle led the grand champion female in the junior show as well. TCL Gold Laryn 402 by KW Golden Duke topped the junior competition followed by CSF BR Gabrielle 8150 ET by DM BR Sooner and exhibited by Grace Keilty, Cedar, Mich.
