Center for Integrated Animal Genomics, Pfizer Animal Genetics to present seminar

The Center for Integrated Animal Genomics, Pfizer Animal Genomics Scholar Forum will be held at Iowa State University at 2 p.m., Nov. 18 in the Ensminger Room in Kildee Hall.

Howard J. Jacob, professor in the Department of Physiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, will present the "Integration of Medicine and Genomics: The impact of high throughput sequencing."

Jacob has conducted research comparing genomics in humans, mice and rats to develop several new genetic models for diabetes mellitus-induced renal failure and myocardial ischemia. More information about Jacob's work can be found: http://www.phys.mcw.edu/fac_jacob.htm

The lecture is free of charge and open to the public.
