28 head of cattle found dead

KENTWOOD, La. (AP)--Tangipahoa Parish sheriff's detectives are investigating the shooting of at least 28 head of cattle at a Kentwood farm during the last nine months.

Detective Keith Womack said Dec. 1 that the cattle were shot with a high-powered rifle.

The property where the shootings have occurred is on La. Highway 1058.

Womack estimated the value of the black Angus cattle at $2,000 to $3,000 each.
