Wolves kill cattle in Big Hole Valley areaBOZEMAN, Mont. (AP)--Montana wildlife officials say wolves have killed or injured cattle in three unrelated incidents in the Big Hole Valley area in mid-December. Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks says a calf was killed on private land near Polaris in southwestern Montana and two more were killed north of Wisdom. USDA Wildlife Services is trying to collar one wolf and remove another in the Polaris case and has been authorized to remove three wolves for the depredations near Wisdom. One of those wolves was killed Dec. 4. Meanwhile, a cow was injured on private land east of Wisdom, and officials are trying to collar one wolf and kill two others in that case. 12/29/08 Date: 12/23/08 Advertisement
