Members to guide IFBF 2009 policy developmentIowa Thirteen farmers have been selected to guide the Iowa Farm Bureau's policy development process as members of the state resolutions committee in 2009, IFBF President Craig Lang announced. The farmers will work with county Farm Bureau resolutions committees as they surface and develop policy from the grassroots. The committee held an organizational meeting during the Iowa Farm Bureau annual meeting in Des Moines. Members of the committee will meet periodically throughout the year and will present proposed resolutions for consideration by county voting delegates at the Summer Policy Conference Sept. 3 to 4, 2009. Craig Hill of Milo, a grain and livestock farmer and Iowa Farm Bureau vice president, will chair the state resolutions committee. Also named to the committee are the following members: District 1--Chad Ingels, Fayette County; District 2--David Wohlford, Franklin County; District 3--Dan Chism, Palo Alto County; District 4--Kevin Poen, Calhoun County; District 5--Lynn Sackett, Boone County; District 6--Ron Kilburg, Jackson County; District 7 -Joe Ledger, Jefferson County; District 8--Corwin Fee, Marion County; and District 9--Dallas Johnston, Adams County. Also serving on the committee are Justin Dammann, Page County, representing the Young Farmer Committee, as well as Todd Kalkwarf of Butler County and Karen Seipold of Mills County, who were selected to at-large positions. 12/22/08 Date: 12/16/08
