MFU announces $1,000 Wiggins Scholarship available

Missouri

To reward students for their service to rural communities and dedication to agriculture, Missouri Farmers Union will offer one $1000 Gary Wiggins Scholarship to a young person currently pursuing or wishing to pursue post-secondary education with plans to enter production agriculture or other related service to rural communities upon completion of their degree.

The scholarship is available to students planning to attend or currently attending schools within the United States, vocational or otherwise. Adult and non-traditional student applications are welcome. To apply, students must provide a completed application form and an essay. The application packet must be filled out completely. Farmers Union membership is preferred, but not required. Applications must be postmarked on or before January 5, 2009, to be considered. Winners will be announced at the Missouri Farmers Union Tenth Annual Convention, Jan. 30 to 31, 2009 in Ste. Genevieve.
