EU: No more farm trade concessionsBRUSSELS, Belgium (AP)--French Agriculture Minister Michel Barnier says the European Union will not offer new concessions in opening up its farm markets during a possible new round of negotiations in Geneva next month to clinch a world trade deal. Barnier says EU farm ministers agreed at their meeting Nov. 28 that the bloc would demand its trade partners offer concessions of their own at the World Trade Organization. France says farming has been unfairly targeted within the global talks The talks collapsed in July. Efforts are under way to relaunch them amid the global economic slowdown. 12/22/08 Date: 12/18/08
